What time does each race start?

Start times for each event and wave are as follows. A race briefing for each event will occur 30 mins prior to the start of wave A for the individual event.

Who can enter the event?
25km

You must be over the age of 16 to enter the 25km event.

 

11km

All participants 13 and over are permitted to enter as an individual in the 11km event. Any participant between the age of 11-12 years must be accompanied by a legal guardian or parent. The parent or guardian will need to register and pay the entry fee, and must run with the child at all times.

 

1.6km

Participants must be 12 or under. A legal guardian or parent may run for free with their child.

Can I volunteer to help?

Join the volunteer crew for a fantastic experience along some of NSW best coastline and National Parks. We have a role for everyone, from restoring runners energy, cheering them on as they take on the course, or handing out well deserved finishers medal as they cross the finish line in beautiful Dixon Park. Volunteering is a life changing experience.

Are there any drink stations on the course?

There are two (2) aid stations along the 25km course and one (1) on the 11km course. Each aid station offers participants the opportunity to re-energise with a array of refreshments including lollies and water.

Please note, all participants are required to carry their own personal cup, which they can refill at aid stations on course.

Will medical support be available along the course?

Yes, there will be first aid support at each aid station and the start/finish line.

 

If you come across a fellow participant requiring medical attention on the course please the advise closest course marshal, providing clear instruction of the location, description of the person and possible injury/illness.

Can I run with an Iphone or other music devices?

No, personal music devices are not permitted.

How do I apply for a preferred start?

Runners wanting a preferred start for either the 25km or 11km can select Wave A during registration. You will also need to include a link to a qualifying time which will be checked by event staff once your registration is processed. Any individual who’s time does not qualify them for a preferred start will be moved to the next available start group.

Can I change my events?

All race changes are subject to a $15.00 admin fee.

Any race downgrades submitted prior to the 15 March will receive a refund for the difference in fees minus the $15.00 admin fee. After this date, no refunds will be provided for downgrades.

Any upgrades will be required to pay the difference in fee plus a $15.00 admin fee.

When do online entries close & what are the registration center opening and closing times?

Online entries will close midnight Saturday 27 April 2019.

On the day entries will be taken in person at the registration tent located at the startline. Please note this will be subject to availability.

Can I transfer my entry or obtain a refund?

Entry fees are non-refundable after the 15 March, 2019 and prior to this date we will retain 25% of the entry fee to cover administration.

All race changes are subject to a $15.00 admin fee.

Participants are able to transfer entries online to another participant if they are unable to attend. The person who is taking the entry will need to pay a $25.00 transfer fee online to complete their new entry.

How can I collect my race bib?

Race bibs can either be collected from the registration centre

Or, from the registration tent located at the start line on event morning.

To collect your race bib, you will need to bring either a printed or electronic version of your e-Ticket emailed to you at the time of registration.

What time should I arrive?

We suggest all participants arrive at least 1 hour before their start time to allow sufficient time to place belongings in the baggage area, stretch, attend pre-race briefing and walk down to the start line.

 

If you are arriving by car please be sure to add 15 minutes as parking can be challenging in a residential area.

For those planning to arrive via public transport, please visit Transport NSW Trip Planner to organise your trip.

If you coming from Sydney via train on event day, it’s important you note the first train arrives into Newcastle Interchange Station at 7:47am so those participants in the 25km event should plan to use an alternate method.

Where can I park?
Event Parking & Restrictions

 

There are a number of small car parks within walking distances of Dixon Park including;

  • Dixon Park Surf Life Saving Club.
  • Merewether Ocean Baths
  • Watkins St
  • Frederick St
  • Bar Beach

Please note Merewether Beach Parking will be closed on Sunday 28 April 2019 for the purpose of the event.

Free street parking is also available, however, be mindful that this is a busy area and allowing additional time to park is essential. For more details please visit https://www.parkopedia.com.au/parking/merewether/

Is there somewhere I can leave my things whilst I run?

Participants are able to drop a small amount of personal belongings to baggage area positioned within Dixon Park Festival Village. The baggage area will be open from 6:00am – 2:00pm on event day.

The area will be manned by volunteers all day however participants drop their bag at their own risk.

Volunteers will not accept anything deemed as dangerous.

How do I apply for media accreditation for event day?

Those wishing to obtain a Media Accreditation for event day will need to email alice@pont3.com.
