Event Parking and Restrictions

 

There are a number of small car parks within walking distances of Dixon Park including;

 

  • Dixon Park Surf Life Saving Club.
  • Merewether Ocean Baths
  • Watkins St
  • Frederick St
  • Bar Beach

 

Please note: Merewether Beach Parking will be closed on DATE TBC for the purpose of the event.

Free street parking is also available, however, be mindful that this is a busy area and allowing additional time to park is essential. For more details please visit https://www.parkopedia.com.au/parking/merewether/

 

Transport

If you coming from Sydney via train on event day, it’s important you note the first train arrives into Newcastle Interchange Station at 7:47am so those participants in the 25km event should plan to use an alternate method.

 

Things to do in the area

 

Approx 2.5hr drive from Sydney, and situated within beautiful Newcastle, Merewether Beach is one of NSW’s most iconic beaches along its 2,137 km coastline. In 2009, it was declared as only 1 of 20 National Surfing Reserves in Australia.
