The start line will be positioned on Merewether Beach, directly in front of Dixon Park Surf Club. Following the event briefing at the main stage, all participants will be directed, with the assistance of volunteers, to walk down the path in front of the surf club.
This will be the BIG event of the 2024 Coastal Ascent. Runners can expect epic on course activations a buzzing event finishline hub and a challenging course with the first running of the Golden Trail Series in Australia
The finish line will be positioned within the Dixon Park Festival Village.

Checkpoint Locations
There is one course checkpoint location. This is at Aid Station 1. Runners will be required to run into Reay Park and cross the timing mat before heading back out to complete the entire course.
Aid Stations
There are 3 main Aid stations on course
Aid Station 1
Location: Reay Park, Dudley approximately 12.5km and 35km
What: This is a major Aid station and it will have Water, Pre-mixed FIXX nutrition, FIXX nutrition Gels, Crampfix and a selection of both sweet and salty snacks for runners. There will be dedicated Athlete toilets available as well as Medical support if required. Athletes can expect that this location will be very busy on race day as spectators cheer on runners as they make their way into and then back out of Reay park. This is the furthest point from the start/finish line.
Runners CAN have outside assistance provided to them in the 300m leading into and out of this Aid station. This is the only Aid station where this is allowed. Your support crew (1 per runner) can run out and meet you as you enter Reay Park and check in with you, take used nutrition flasks etc and then help you to restock before they are then able to run 300 metres out with you again.
Spectators will be able to access ammenities and purchase food and drinks at this location. Spectators are encouraged to bring camp chairs to sit on and crew their runners. Running Clubs may setup marquees on the oval too (prior approval required)
Aid station 2
Location: Intersection Easement Trail and Scenic Drive approximately 19km and 45km
What: This is a standard Aid station and will stock water and pro mixed FIXX nutrition. Limited medical supplies will be available. This is also a large spectator zone and it is the only Aid station used by the 11km/25km and 50km courses
Aid station 3
Location: Start/Finish line 25km into event
What: This is a major Aid station and it will have Water, Pre-mixed FIXX nutrition, FIXX nutrition Gels, Crampfix and a selection of both sweet and salty snacks for runners. There will be dedicated Athlete toilets available as well as Medical support if required. Athletes can expect that this location will be very busy on race day. You will be able to have crew here and also be able to access drop bags
Note: This is a cupless event
Baggage / Bag Drop
There will be a allocated baggage area within the Dixon Park Festival Village near the finish line. Baggage will open at 5:00am and close at 4:00pm and will be manned by volunteers. The event owners take no responsibility for the security of the participant belongings.
Course Cut Off
The course cut off time is 8.5 hours from Wave A start time with the course closing at 4:00pm (Must have departed Reay park by 2pm)Any participant still running will be transported back to the festival village following this time. Any participant that doesn’t meet the course cut off will receive a DNF.
